Integrations

Batteries and inverters we can connect to

If you already have a home battery, you do not need to buy a new one to take part. We connect through the inverter, so nothing extra goes into the utility room. Below are the brands that work today, and the ones on the way.

Status brand by brand

1 brand can be connected today and 3 are under development. We update the list when an integration goes live — not before.

Why the inverter, and not a new box?

A home battery is controlled in practice through its inverter — the brain of the system and its link to the solar panels, the house and the grid. If we can talk to the inverter, we can ask the battery to hold a reserve ready without installing anything further at your place. That is why we work brand by brand: every manufacturer has its own interface, and every integration has to be built and tested on its own.

Once the battery is connected it joins NM1's virtual power plant alongside many other households' devices, and we sell the combined flexibility as FCR-D to Energinet in daily auctions. Batteries are the fastest reserve on the grid because they respond in seconds and have no comfort task to protect. Frequently asked questions

Do I need to buy a new battery to take part?

No. If you already have a battery from one of the brands we can connect to, we use what you have. The integration runs through the inverter, so no extra hardware is installed in your home.

My brand is not on the list — what then?

Sign up anyway. The list is growing, and we prioritise by which brands our customers actually own. We will contact you if your system can be connected.

What does my system need?

A compatible inverter and a stable wifi connection, typically the 2.4 GHz network. We control the battery through the inverter interface — no extra box in the utility room.

Does it affect the battery warranty?

We keep the control within the manufacturer's limits. Always read the warranty terms for your own system — some warranties set requirements on usage patterns — and ask your installer if in doubt.

Can my battery both save and earn?

With NM1, the battery earns today by keeping capacity available to Energinet. Control by electricity price, so the battery also shifts consumption to the cheap hours and saves on the bill, is something we are working on — it is coming soon. See the hourly prices on our electricity price page.

Is your brand on the list?

Then sign up and we will connect your battery. If it is not there yet we would still like to hear from you — we prioritise new integrations by what our customers actually own.

Earnings depend on, among other things, market prices, Energinet's needs, regulation and your own consumption and equipment, and they can change over time. FCR-D prices are set in daily auctions. Historical earnings are no guarantee of future earnings.
