Hot water tank · Coming soon
Let your hot water tank earn money
HeatSync runs your hot water tank to suit the grid: it heats the water when the grid needs it, and you still have hot water when you want it. You get a share of the payment.

Your share is paid out quarterly as an ordinary bank transfer.
Which tanks does it work with?
HeatSync works with Metro Therm hot water tanks made after 2010. The tank must be 2-phase, which most 3 kW models are. If you are unsure about your tank, we check it with you — before you commit to anything.
Hot water when you need it
The water in the tank is hot when you want a shower — you will not notice a difference day to day. If you want to take control yourself, you can pause the control at any time in the app. All data is sent encrypted.

Is HeatSync right for you?
- You have a Metro Therm hot water tank made after 2010, and it is 2-phase.
- There is 2.4 GHz wifi at the tank — a 5 GHz-only network is not enough.
- There is power at the tank for the control unit.
- You are willing to give access to data from your electricity meter. This happens automatically once you have given consent.
- Your home is in East Denmark (DK2). We only cover DK2 for now.
Already have a Shelly?
If a Shelly already controls your water heater or immersion heater, you can sign it up for free — see the Shelly integration.
What will I earn?
Your earnings depend on FCR-D prices, which are set at daily auctions, and on the size of your tank. Try the earnings calculator.
Earnings depend on, among other things, market prices, Energinet's needs, regulation and your own consumption and equipment, and they can change over time. FCR-D prices are set in daily auctions. Historical earnings are no guarantee of future earnings.
