What can your home earn?
Once your device is connected to NM1, we bid its flexibility into Energinet's daily FCR-D auctions — one for every hour of the day. The income from winning bids is shared between you and NM1 and paid out quarterly as an ordinary bank transfer. So there is no single fixed price: the amount follows the auction prices. Use the calculator below to see what your device can earn.
- Auctions: Energinet buys FCR-D in a daily auction where each hour of the coming day is bought separately. Prices vary from hour to hour and from day to day.
- Shared earnings: the income from your device's flexibility is shared between you and NM1. No hidden fees.
- Quarterly payout: your share is paid out every quarter as an ordinary bank transfer from NM1 — behind the scenes we are settled through eSett, the shared Nordic settlement operator.

What do your earnings depend on?
Three things decide what your home in particular can earn — which is why we do not put one number on it that applies to everyone:
- The device type. An electric heating element, a heat pump and a home battery each deliver flexibility in their own way. See the three device types on the products page.
- The power. The more power your device can shift, the more flexibility we can bid into the auctions on your behalf.
- The auction prices. FCR-D prices are set in Energinet's daily auctions and vary with supply and demand in the grid. What FCR-D is, and why Energinet pays for it, is explained in our guide to ancillary services.
