Batteries for ancillary services: how batteries earn on reserves
Batteries are the grid's fastest reserve, and Energinet pays for them through daily auctions. See how home batteries and large plants earn from it.
Integrations · Solplanet
If you have a Solplanet inverter with a battery, you do not need to buy anything from us. We connect through the inverter, bid the battery's flexibility into FCR-D for Energinet, and share the revenue with you — see what your battery can earn under calculate your earnings. Solplanet is the brand NM1 has run with longest.
The integration runs through the inverter, so no extra hardware is needed in your home. Solplanet is the brand we have run with longest. It also means no electrician has to visit: the control runs through the interface the inverter already has. We can connect almost all Solplanet hybrid inverters sold in Denmark.
You do the first two steps yourself. We handle the rest together with Energinet, and once the test is approved, your system is ready for the grid.
Your part
Log in at Solplanet
You're sent to Solplanet's website, where you log in with your username and password. It's the same login you use in the Solplanet app.
MitID, login, supplier and battery
You give us access to your electricity meter with MitID and create a password for your account — your email is your username. Then you choose your electricity supplier and enter your battery's size in kWh.
Our part, together with Energinet
The first month
Once your system is on our platform, we spend the first month collecting data. Energinet requires this, so we know your consumption and your device.
We show we can control your system
With the data in place, we run a short test that shows Energinet we can control your system.
Your system is qualified
Once Energinet approves the test, your system is qualified to be available to the grid. It helps keep the grid stable, and we share the revenue with you.
NM1 controls your battery through the inverter, so no extra equipment is needed in your home. You sign up and we confirm whether your setup can be connected — it is not a purchase. If you have a larger installation from 10 kW, see Balance.
If you have another brand, the brand-by-brand status is on the batteries and inverters page, and the full picture is on the integrations page. To see what a battery could mean before you sign up, try the calculator on the earnings page.
No. If you have a Solplanet system, we use what you have. The integration runs through the inverter, so no extra box goes into the utility room.
There is no hardware cost, because we connect to the system you already own. You sign up and we confirm whether your particular setup can be connected.
The integration runs through the inverter interface. Sign up with your model and we will confirm whether your setup can be connected.
We keep the control within the manufacturer limits. Always read the warranty terms for your own system — some warranties set conditions on usage patterns — and ask your installer if in doubt.
