For installers and OEM partners

NM1 aggregates households' heating devices and batteries into one virtual power plant and sells the flexibility as FCR-D to Energinet. As an installer or OEM, you can give your customers a device that earns money by supporting the grid — without compromising comfort or equipment.

Why partner with NM1?

  • Heating devices at scale

We are one of the only aggregators running heating devices at scale — most only run batteries. Heating elements, water heaters and heat pumps are the core of the portfolio.

  • Live operation — not a pilot

The virtual power plant has been live since June 2025 and bids into Energinet's auctions every single day.

  • Gentle on the equipment

Activations are short — seconds to minutes — and designed not to affect comfort or equipment. See the details under how it works.

Two ways to work together

Installer

If you install heating elements, water heaters, heat pumps or batteries, your customers can connect their devices to NM1 — see the product overview. Devices need stable wifi (typically 2.4 GHz), and onboarding is built for self-installation, so it adds no extra hours to your job.

We agree the terms of installer partnerships directly with you.

OEM integration

Batteries integrate through inverter OEM APIs — including Solplanet — so your customers' systems can deliver FCR-D without extra hardware. Metro Therm hot water tanks connect through HeatSync.

If you build inverters, heat pumps or other controllable hardware, we are happy to have a technical conversation about the integration. Terms are agreed directly.
